Open Textbook Network and Library

Open Textbook Network and Library

Minnesota State and the University of Minnesota have partnered together with other universities and colleges across the country to form the Open Textbook Network and Library.  Through this partnership we are fostering the use of the Open Textbook Library as a central location for finding and reviewing open textbooks.

What are Open Textbooks?

Open textbooks are real, complete textbooks licensed so teachers and students can freely use, adapt, and distribute the material. Open textbooks can be downloaded for no cost, or printed inexpensively.

Why use Open Textbooks?

Open textbooks can provide a free or low cost, high-quality alternative to traditional high priced textbooks.  Textbook costs are becoming a major burden to our students and are impacting students attaining their educational goals.
